Formation of the Street

Arkhitektorska Street in Lviv has an interesting history connected to the city’s growth and its architectural heritage. It is located in the Halytskyi District and runs from Stepan Bandera Street northward to Starosolskykh Street.

The street was first mentioned in 1901 under the name Zakhariyevycha Street, in honor of the prominent Lviv architect Julian Zachariewicz. During the German occupation, it was renamed Justus Liebiggasse, commemorating the German chemist Justus von Liebig. Its current name, Arkhitektorska, was assigned in 1946, highlighting the street’s connection to the city’s architectural community.

Today, Arkhitektorska Street retains its historical character and is part of Lviv’s architectural heritage. Its name and development reflect respect for distinguished architects who made significant contributions to the city’s evolution.
