Formation of the Street

Chubai Street is located in the Yaniv/Podzamche area of Lviv. It was formed in the early 20th century through urban expansion and was later named after the Ukrainian poet Hryhorii Chubai.

Builders and Style

The four-story tenement was built in 1914 by architect Albin Konrblüth, representing the transition from Secession to early Modernism. It features a mansard roof, symmetrical facade, modest stucco decoration, wrought-iron balconies, and an arched entrance.

Who Was the Owner?

Originally built as rental housing for the middle class. It was nationalized after 1939, then privatized in the 1990s.

Four stories with a high basement; balanced window layout; balcony railings; stucco cornices; interior likely retains terrazzо floors, stair railings, period doors.

Interesting Facts

  • One of the last Secession-style tenements built before WWI.
