Residential building

Formation of the street

Sofiia Yablonska Street (formerly Panenska, then Zavodska) was established in the late 18th century near a Basilian sisters’ monastery, and major development occurred at the end of the 19th and start of the 20th century. Many two- and three-story Classicist, Secessionist, and Constructivist tenements were constructed. In 2022 the street was renamed in honor of Ukrainian writer and photographer Sofiia Yablonska. Today, it is a one-way cobbled street preserving its historic character with green spaces and transport connections
