Street Formation
Ivan Kotliarevskyi Street is located in the historic Kastelivka district of Lviv. Formed at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, it became part of a prestigious residential area built mainly in the styles of Viennese Secession, historicism, modernism, and functionalism. Initially named Nabielaka Street, it was later called Schillergasse during the German occupation, and received its current name in 1946 in honor of Ukrainian writer Ivan Kotliarevskyi .

Building No. 15 on Kotliarevskyi Street is a four-story residential tenement house constructed in 1912–1913, designed by architects Ignacy Kendzerski and Adam Opolski. The client for the construction was Mechyslaw Pappe. The architectural style of the building is modernized neoclassicism with influences from early 20th-century German architecture .
