Formation of the Street
Tsetnerivka Street in Lviv was named after Ignacy Cetner, a voivode of Belz, who in the late 18th century established a park here with exotic plants. This park later became the foundation for the present-day Botanical Garden of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
Today, Tsetnerivka Street stretches from Marka Cheremshyny Street to Lychakiv Park. The even-numbered side of the street is lined with villas built between 1910 and 1930. Among them, house No. 18 stands out — built in 1930 by architect Władysław Derdecki as his private residence.
Who Is the Owner?
This villa, dating from the 1930s, was inherited by its current owner. After commissioning a renovation from Lviv architect Mykola Senyk, the building acquired a radically new appearance. (You can compare its previous form with the neighboring house to the right.)
