The building at 10 Hlyboka Street was constructed in 1910 to a design by architect August Bohokhvalskyi for Anna Schwieger.
It is a fine example of Lviv Art Nouveau architecture. Its façades are decorated with characteristic stucco ornament featuring stylized flowers and mascarons.
The staircase interior is particularly noteworthy. A painted ceiling panel has survived, while the windows were once filled with stained-glass panels featuring floral motifs, created using painting and glass-etching techniques. Unfortunately, these stained-glass works have not survived.
Until 1942, the building was home to Zygmunt Harland, an artist, architect, and director of the Lviv School of Industrial Arts.
Thus, 10 Hlyboka Street combines an Art Nouveau façade, decorative interior painting, and a connection to Lviv’s artistic history.
