Amid blooming Lviv stands the building at Hryhorenka Square, 5. Constructed in 1912–1914 and designed by Józef Piątkowski and Maksymilian Burstin, it is an example of late Neoclassicism with modernized features—restrained symmetry, a clear rhythm of windows, and minimal decoration.
The building was conceived as part of a commercial passage, which is why it has a more complex internal structure and combines residential and public functions. As early as 1918, the “Marysienka” cinema was opened here.
Today, the building houses the “Voskresinnia” Theatre, continuing the tradition of using this architecture as a cultural space.
