As part of the World Art Nouveau Days in Lviv, the Art Library hosted a lecture by Ihor Zhuk, Associate Professor at the Department of History of the Ukrainian Catholic University and PhD in Art History, entitled “Secession / Art Nouveau Style in the Art of the 1880s–1910s.”
During the event, participants learned about the origins and key features of the Art Nouveau movement, its development across different European countries, and its significance in the cultural processes of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The lecture explored the distinctive characteristics of the Secession style and its influence on architecture, painting, decorative arts, and everyday culture of the era.
We sincerely thank Ihor Zhuk for the engaging and insightful presentation, and all participants for their interest, enthusiasm, and appreciation of cultural heritage.
