International Symposium in Brussels

On November 27–28, Brussels became the center of discussions on Art Nouveau preservation and restoration. As part of the “Art Nouveau as a New EUtopia” project, the city hosted an international symposium titled “Bringing Art Nouveau Heritage to Life: Theory and Practice in Restoration.”

The event brought together experts from across Europe to explore contemporary approaches to preserving and restoring Art Nouveau landmarks. A key focus was the discussion of two important international documents for restoration professionals:
🔹 The Venice Charter
🔹 The Turin Declaration

The symposium featured lectures, panel discussions, practical workshops, and professional networking opportunities, fostering the exchange of experiences among participants. It served as a platform for professionals, students, and enthusiasts to engage with the challenges and opportunities of preserving Europe’s architectural heritage.

The event took place at the BEL Conference Center in central Brussels and was free to attend with prior registration.
