The city of Lviv became an honorary member of the international platform for popularizing Art Nouveau heritage.
About this reports the “Heritage Bureau”, thanks to which, in fact, this became possible.
Réseau Art-Nouveau Network (RANN) is an international organization that is engaged in research, preservation and promotion of Art Nouveau heritage, or Art Nouveau or Art Nouveau, as this architectural style is usually called in Ukraine.
Currently, 24 cities are members of the organization, as well as individual researchers and bloggers who popularize Art Nouveau heritage. In April 2023, Lviv became an honorary member of RANN.
Thanks to joining the RANN network, Lviv got the opportunity to declare its rich secessionist heritage at the international level.
The website presents 16 objects of the Lviv Secession, including the tenement houses of Stromenger, Stoff, Stauber, the interiors of the former Chamber of Commerce and Industry with paintings by Felix Vygzhivalsky and the Lviv Music College named after S. Lyudkevich with paintings by Modest Sosenko, as well as the pearl of Hutsul secession – the former building of the Dniester Insurance Company, and many other valuable buildings.
The status of an honorary member was achieved thanks to the active cooperation of the LKP “Heritage Bureau” of the Department of Historical Environment Protection with RANN as part of the development of an application for a grant from the “Creative Europe” program.
