In November, Brussels will host a significant event for all those interested in cultural heritage and restoration. On November 27 and 28, the city will become the venue for the international symposium “Bringing Art Nouveau Heritage to Life: Theory and Practice in Restoration”, organized as part of the European project “Art Nouveau as a New EUtopia”. This symposium will bring together experts from various European countries to discuss pressing issues related to the restoration of Art Nouveau monuments.
The event aims to explore modern approaches to preserving and restoring this unique architectural style, which became a symbol of aesthetic exploration at the turn of the 20th century. A key part of the discussions will focus on two international documents of great importance to restoration specialists: the Venice Charter and the Turin Declaration.
Participants will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge through lectures and panel discussions that will address both theoretical aspects and practical methods of restoring Art Nouveau architectural landmarks. In addition, the program includes practical workshops and networking sessions for professionals from different countries to share their experiences.
